Ebony Arc

Leadership Coaching

Creating the conditions to think clearly.

Strategy without grounding is just another demand.

Most coaching jumps straight to action. Ebony Arc begins differentlyβ€”by establishing the four conditions that make meaningful action possible:

Time. Space. Trust. Safety.

This is not a wellness program or a leadership seminar. It is deep, rigorous, healing-centered coaching for high-capacity adults who are ready to move forward without bypassing what brought them here.

My Process

β€œMy coaching creates the conditions people need to think clearly by honoring timing, restoring perspective, rebuilding trust in self, and supporting regulated leadership under pressure.”

Time Β· Space Β·

Trust Β· Safetyβ„’

A healing-centered framework for leadership and life transitions. These are not steps. They are conditions established and revisited throughout the coaching relationship.

This framework regulates before it strategizes. It restores identity before it demands action. It builds leadership capacity without bypassing loss. It mirrors how humans actually adapt after rupture - career, institutional, relational, or identity-based.

Time: Reclaiming pace and developmental readiness β€” β€œWhat is the right pace for you now?”

Space: Creating room for clarity, choice, and differentiation β€” β€œWhat do you need distance from in order to see clearly?”

Trust: Restoring internal authority and discernment β€” β€œWhat part of you knowsβ€”and how do you listen to it again?”

Safety: Cultivating regulated presence and sustainable power β€” β€œWhat helps you stay present and resourced under pressure?”

Leadership & Executive Coaching

A sustained, confidential relationship designed to help leaders navigate transition, rebuild internal authority, and move forward with clarity and integrity.

What is Coaching?

Coaching is when a certified coach enters into a partnership that honors the client’s inherent wholeness and their capacity to find their own answers, fostering an equal power dynamic throughout their journey of change.

Coaching is NOT Mentoring.

Mentoring is typically a relationship in which someone with more experience in a particular field shares knowledge, guidance, and access with someone more junior. It is relational, often informal, and built around the mentor’s experience as the primary resource.

Coaching is a structured professional service with clear methodology, boundaries, and goals. While I bring significant institutional fluency to our work, I am not functioning as your mentorβ€”I am functioning as a professional partner whose job is to help you build your own authority, not depend on mine.

Coaching is NOT Therapy or Counseling.

Therapy is provided by licensed mental health professionals (therapists, psychologists, social workers, licensed counselors) and is designed to diagnose and treat mental health conditions, process trauma, and address clinical-level psychological concerns. It is often focused on the past and on healing emotional wounds that interfere with daily functioning.

Coaching is a forward-focused professional relationship designed to support goal achievement, leadership development, decision-making, and professional transitions. Coaches do not diagnose or treat mental health conditions. The coaching relationship is not a therapeutic relationship.

That said, effective coaching acknowledges the whole person. The Time Space Trust Safety Framework integrates healing-centered principles that honor emotional intelligence, institutional impact, and the cost of operating in complex systems. This is not therapy. It is coaching that takes the full human being seriously.

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis or believe you need clinical support, I will always encourage you to seek it, and I can help you think through next steps.

Coaching is NOT Consulting.

Consultants are hired for their expertise in a specific domain. They assess, diagnose, and recommend and often implement. When you hire a consultant, you are paying for their knowledge and their answers.

Coaching operates differently. A coach’s primary tools are deep listening skills and questions designed to help you access and develop your own thinking, decision-making, and leadership capacity. The assumption is that you hold significant expertise about your own situation, and the coach’s role is to help you use it more effectively.

In practice, the line is not always rigid. Coaches like me who have deep institutional experience may offer perspective, context, and occasional recommendations when directly useful. But the primary orientation of our work together will always be your growth, not my prescription.

Working Together

Who do you typically work with?

I work with senior leaders, executives, and professionals navigating leadership transitions. I also work with organizationsβ€”providing coaching engagements, facilitation, and consultation for leadership teams, Employee Resource Groups, talent development initiatives, and organizational change processes.

What does a coaching engagement look like?

Engagements are designed in partnership, based on your goals, timeline, and the scope of work. Typical individual coaching engagements run three to six months, with sessions held bi-weekly or monthly. Organizational engagements are scoped separately.

All engagements begin with a complimentary consultationβ€”a conversation designed to assess fit, clarify goals, and determine what the right container for the work looks like. I do not begin an engagement that is not a genuine match.

Is everything we discuss confidential?

Yes. Confidentiality is foundational to the coaching relationship. What we discuss stays between us. In organizational engagements where a sponsor (employer, HR, etc.) is involved, we establish clear parameters at the outset about what is and is not sharedβ€”and you will always know those boundaries before we begin.

Do you work with organizations, or only individuals?

Both. Ebony Arc offers executive coaching for individuals, and a range of organizational services including leadership team facilitation, coaching program design, and consultation on culture and leadership development. Organizations who want to make a meaningful investment in their leaders, particularly leaders from underrepresented groups, are a strong fit for this work.

How do I get started?

The best starting point is a consultation. We will have a 30-to-45-minute conversation to discuss your situation, explore what you are looking for, and determine whether Ebony Arc is the right fit. There is no obligation. Reach out by email to begin the conversation. (Ebony@EbonyArcCoaching.com)

Testimonials

  • β€” R.H.

β€œEbony has an extremely even keel, which is critical for a coach. She doesn’t allow her emotions to pass over her face while she’s coaching, or give anything away about her own personal feelings about the discussion. Ebony was also very consistent about ensuring that we were treating our sessions as coaching vice therapy, and she always pushed me to find the answer for myself vice interjecting her own advice and opinions. While I sometimes would have loved advice, I appreciated that she pushed me to find the answer within myself with her probing questions and insights, and hewed closely to the tenets of coaching.”

  • β€” P.F.

β€œI learned that my values of community, honesty, and justice really show up in how I view the world, and furthermore, seek to orient my current and future work. One realization that has stuck with me is the idea that if something doesn’t exist within a space, sometimes you have to create it or take the lead on making room for it yourself. I seek to actively honor that and not allow fear to hold me back from being a leader in that regard. Finally, I found that I tend to view many things from a creative and artistic perspective, and that is actually helpful in finding my way through to solutions for issues that I may be facing.”

  • β€” R.H.

β€œThere was utility in having dedicated time to stop, think, and reflect on the situations that I was in. I appreciated the opportunity to role play and game out how I would conduct myself in difficult and/or uncomfortable situations. I am a verbal processor, and so having the opportunity to talk through how to comport myself and act as a leader was very helpful. Enrolling in leadership training was also a vote of confidence from my supervisor, in that he was interested in my professional development.”

  • β€” D.I.

β€œMy buddy noticed changes. Specifically, that I’ve done a lot of introspection – who I am, what I want, what I want to get out of life. Talking with you has strengthened the process. You helped me think about things from a perspective that I hadn’t considered before. I’ve strengthened my sense of identity, values, and direction.”

  • β€” A.S.

β€œI gained insights into some of the drivers affecting my ability to network and generate new opportunities for career and personal growth. I also gained more clarity about values I hold dear and which I would not compromise regardless of where I work. I also better understand which approaches and behaviors I am most likely to exhibit in any work environment and why.”

  • – A.H.

β€œI think the counterfactual would not be a trajectory in which my life would have otherwise been the same had I not done coaching. I think this coaching began at a time in which I was aware of some struggles, but continued through a time in which there were many difficulties to navigate. Had I not had the tools developed during coaching, I believe that this difficult period would have been significantly more challenging.”

Leadership coaching that helps people find clarity, direction, and growth.
